”The most important thing you can do is show up, listen and try to laugh. The rest will fall into place.”
Our March meeting speaker, Britt James Carpenter, left his 17-year career in for-profit education to embark on a number of entrepreneurial opportunities. His current work is as the founder and director of the Philly Unknown Project, a non-profit working closely with the homeless as well as people in active addiction. He spends much of his time working the front lines of homelessness and addiction in Philadelphia, organizing community events and outreach initiatives. Featured in a docuseries by Voice of America called "The Damage Done: The Unwanted," bringing awareness of the opioid crisis to our communities, Britt hosts a radio talk show, “Be a Voice,” on USALA Radio and is the founder of the successful community-focused Instagram account, Philly Unknown. In all of his roles, including as the owner/operator of Philadelphia-based Muttropolitan Pet Sitting, Britt’s main focus is to encourage people to be empowered and the best they can be at all times.
