Kids on Campus 2016: Science Survivor Summer Camp

The Kids on Campus Science Survivor Summer Camp met July 5-8 at the Upper Bucks Campus of Bucks County Community College. During their time together, the campers worked in groups to collaboratively and creatively make observations, conduct hands-on experiments and solve problems, leading them to discover the world of science present in the world around them.

And some days, that meant making homemade "slime" by mixing water, food coloring, borax and glue.

The students also learned about hydro power and the many ways to use water. It was a great week!

The Value of Women's Voices - May 2016 Meeting Recap

Our May meeting was all about using your voice. It started with the circuitous journey of our Sister of the Month, singer-turned-yoga studio owner, Jessica D'Angelo and continued with a terrific talk from Colleen Lutz Clemens, PhD on how as women, we often censor ourselves and silence our voices. She shared how we can be aware of this as it happens and make sure we are heard. Colleen is the Assistant Professor of Non-Western Literature at Kutztown University and beginning in the Fall 2016 will serve as their Director of Women's and Gender Studies.

Thanks to Exida for our meeting space, Sherah Cooney for capturing the essence of our meeting with her photography and Spallone Media for the speaker video services.

You've Got the Look - April 2016 Meeting Recap

Our April meeting featured Sister of the Month Emily Smith and speaker Jill Strickland of FROX showing us how to have showing us how to have perfect style with just a few quality pieces.

Thanks to Exida for our meeting space, Amy McDermott of Heart and Soul Portraits for the phenomenal photographs and Spallone Media for the speaker video services.

Join us for our May meeting Thursday, May 19th when Sister of the Month, Jessica D'Angelo, will share her story and Dr. Colleen Lutz Clemens will speak on the power of women's voices.

Best Foot Forward: Empowering Women of All Ages

We are still on a high of our first major fundraiser, Best Foot Forward: Empowering Women of All Ages. Approximately 100 women gathered at Bucks County Community College's Upper Bucks Campus for a fun evening on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Designed as an evening for all women to create their own experience, the event included breakout sessions, "try-its," an inspiring keynote from Lu Ann Cahn and a joyous spring fashion show by FROX.

We are grateful to Perkasie Borough for co-presenting this event with us and look forward to sharing news of the proceeds very soon. The proceeds will be used to further the mission of Sisters U to empower, educate and encourage ALL women.

Many thanks to Amy McDermott of Heart and Soul Portraits for donating her talents so we have these fabulous memories from the evening.
